Outspark, PlaySpan Partner For In-Game Commerce

-Online game publilsher Outspark has announced an agreement with publisher-sponsored in-game commerce network PlaySpan to provide a player-to-player virtual goods marketplace for all of Outspark's online games.

PlaySpan's market will be integrated with Outspark titles, which include Fiesta and Secret of the Solstice. The games follow the free-to-play, pay-for-items business model, wherein the games can be downloaded and played without cost and purchase optional in-game items and enhancements.

PlaySpan provides an in-game widget so that Outspark users can buy and sell virtual items amongst themselves, and the company says it assures the security of the transactions. Additionally, users may conduct transactions without leaving the game.

Says Outspark founder and CEO Susan Choe, "We know that gamers enjoy trading online, so we are responding to the need for a quality, secured commerce network. PlaySpan is leading the category with its in-game technology and player-to-player micro-transaction network, and we are pleased to be working with them to provide a great user experience."
